Coast

Three basins, five gateways

Ambarlı and Asyaport on the Marmara, İzmir on the Aegean, Mersin and İskenderun on the Mediterranean. We choose the port of loading together, by route, service and deadline; the sheets below are the data behind that choice.

Positions are NGA World Port Index coordinates²⁸; the small dots are Turkey's other commercial ports — we can ship from them too, and we say from the outset that we have no team there.

The port cluster on the European side, on the Beylikdüzü–Avcılar shore: three container terminals — Marport, Kumport, Mardaş — work side by side. It is the sea exit of the Marmara industrial region and of the Kapıkule–İpsala road corridor; our head office and our Mimarsinan warehouse sit next to the cluster.

Mersin, Mediterranean

The Mediterranean exit of the Çukurova industrial region, Central Anatolia and the South-East. The port is run by Mersin Uluslararası Liman İşletmeciliği A.Ş. (MIP): a PSA–Akfen partnership since 2007 under a 36-year concession, with IFM Investors as partner since 2017⁶. The free zone adjoins the port and the rail terminal connects to Central Anatolia.

Asyaport

Tekirdağ, Marmara

The terminal at Barbaros, Süleymanpaşa, opened on 8 July 2015; built as a transshipment hub, it is a partnership between GTL, the terminal investment company of the MSC group, and the Soyuer family⁸. The exit of Thrace industry (Çorlu, Çerkezköy) and of the European road corridor; the Avrupa Free Zone is in the same province.

Cargo on a direct mainline call
As a transshipment terminal it receives large-vessel calls; where the route fits, a departure without transshipment.
Factories in Thrace
Çorlu, Çerkezköy, Lüleburgaz and the Avrupa Free Zone; a port without entering İstanbul traffic.

We do not rank the two: vessel schedule, empty containers and deadline decide which one fits.

Hatay, Mediterranean

Two container terminals in the Gulf of İskenderun: LimakPort, running the former TCDD port, and Assan Port in the Sarıseki industrial zone. The exit for iron and steel and heavy industry, the GAP provinces and Iraq transit; LimakPort is connected to the national railway, and the expropriation decision for the new rail link that will tie the gulf ports to the Çukurova industrial zones was published in the Official Gazette on 5 September 2026²⁵.

The Aegean exit has two foci: the Alsancak port inside the city and the terminals in Aliağa's Nemrut Bay (SOCAR Terminal, Nemport, TCEEGE). At Alsancak, cargo operations passed to the Albayrak Group's Alport Alsancak Liman İşletmeciliği AŞ on 1 August 2026; TCDD's operation, begun on 1 January 1989, ended on 31 July 2026¹⁵.

Frequently asked

Who chooses the port of loading?

We do, together. The factory's location, the destination port, the service schedule, empty-container availability and the deadline are read together; the quote names the port and the reason. If it changes later, we write down why.

Are the terminals on this page the ones you work with?

Terminal names and figures are public operator, TÜRKLİM and Ministry data; they are not a claim of a contract with any terminal. Which terminal loads the cargo follows the service's call.

How do you decide between Ambarlı and Asyaport?

Both are on the Marmara; we do not rank them. Vessel schedule, a call without transshipment, empty containers and the factory's location decide. For a factory in Thrace Asyaport, for the Asian side Ambarlı, usually means shorter pre-carriage; that is a starting point, not a rule.

Can cargo reach the port by rail?

Mersin, İskenderun (LimakPort) and İzmir Alsancak are rail-connected; Ambarlı and Asyaport have no terminal siding. The rail set-up, wagon supply and terminal slot go into the quote; detail on the rail page.

What if I want a port where you have no team?

We do it, and the quote says "no team of our own at this port". We still run the shipment, with a contracted agent in the field; your contact does not change.
